CONSIGNING
How can I start consigning with Modo Boutique?
IT'S EASY! If you’re local to Portland, schedule a drop-off appointment.

What happens after I drop off my items?
You'll receive an email within a few days with what we've accepted. You will have the option to donate or schedule a pick up of any unaccepted items.
Within a week of receiving your acceptance email, you'll receive a link to your consignor account, along with the pricing of your accepted items.
What if I don't agree with the pricing?
We aim to price items fairly and want you to feel good about it! If you have specific pricing preferences, please leave a note with your drop-off. If you have concerns after seeing the prices, just reach out within 24 hours. If we can’t agree on pricing, you’re welcome to schedule a pickup.
Our sliding scale gives you the best payout for your more expensive items!
Final Sale of Item
- Come in to use some or all as store credit
- shop online (select Store Credit at checkout)
- Request a Payout via PayPal or Paper Check ($1 fee per payout)
*Store Credit can be used immediately after something sells and is worth 10% more than PayPal/Venmo/Check payout. Paypal/Venmo/Checks can be issued anytime after our 14 day return period has passed.
What kinds of clothing does Modo Boutique accept?We primarily buy based on brand. We accept items seasonally, and are looking for clothing purchased new within the last two to three years as well as select vintage.
A few of our favorite brands are: AgoldE, Ali Golden, Ace & Jig, Burberry, Caron Callahan, Chanel, Clare V, Doen, Dolce & Gabbana, Elizabeth Suzann, Frank & Eileen, Frye, Gucci, Jenni Kayne, Jesse Kamm, Lululemon, Louis Vuitton, Nili Lotan, Prairie Underground, Prada, Rag + Bone, Ulla Johnson, Vince, Vuori and so many more.
We also occasionally accept a limited number of mainstream brands such as: Everlane, Anthropologie, J. Crew, Madewell, Zara, etc.
We generally never accept items by the following brands: Forever 21, Banana Republic, Gap, Shein, Abercrombie, Ann Taylor, Jones New York, Polo, Old Navy, Coldwater Creek, Anne Klein, Liz Claiborne, Chico’s, etc.
How do you price apparel?
Our team of experienced buyers consider brand, overall condition, original price (if known) and online sales history of similar items.
What happens if my items don’t sell?
You will be notified via email and will have the option to choose whether you'd like us to return your items or donate them.
Please respond to the email notifying you of returns within 7 days. If we don't hear back from you, your items will be donated on your behalf.
Why wasn't my item(s) accepted by Modo Boutique?
We carefully inspect every item we receive to ensure that our sales are populated exclusively with the kinds of stylish, contemporary and covetable clothing items our shoppers are excited to buy and wear. Read more about what we can and can’t accept on our CONSIGN page.
If Modo Boutique can’t accept an item, can I get it back?
Of course. You'll have the option to choose whether you'd like us to return unacceptable items or donate them.
What if I change my mind? Can I get my item back?
Once you receive your initial pricing email, if we can't come to an agreement on pricing, you're welcome to request your items back. Please respond within 24 hours of receiving your pricing email.
Beyond that point, we ask that consignors allow Modo Boutique AT LEAST two full months before they are eligible for return. We've invested a significant amount of our time & energy to price, photograph, merchandise and market each item you consign with the goal of selling your clothing at a fair price while helping our community of shoppers score stylish, contemporary, covetable finds.

Can I try things on or pickup my purchases in person?
YES! We are located at 2025 NE Alberta St. Portland, Oregon 97211.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs are based on the weight of the item(s) and current USPS rates.
How quickly do you ship?
We are generally able to ship out your order within 1 business day. We ship via USPS and delivery times are based on the method of shipping you choose.
Where do you get your inventory?
All of our inventory comes from the closets of women just like you! We have approximately 1,000 active consignors at any given time, many have been selling their clothing with us for years.
Is every item authentic?
Yes. We do our best to verify the authenticity of each & every item that comes to our store. We do not accept fake or knock-off items, ever.
What is your return/exchange policy?
We want to you to absolutely LOVE your purchase. If for any reason you do not, please let us know right away! We’re happy to issue a refund as long as the item is returned in its original condition and with tag(s) attached. We cannot accept returns of items that appear to have been worn, are damaged or otherwise do not arrive in the same condition in which they were purchased.
Returns are for STORE CREDIT ONLY
- ONLINE: You have 14 Days for online purchases.
- IN STORE: You have 7 days to return for store credit.
*Please make sure all tags are still attached and you have the original receipt.
